Roundtable Discussion with Western Governors and the Southern States Energy Board

This gubernatorial roundtable will be conducted via live video conference between Western governors in Salt Lake City and Southern and Eastern Governors assembled in Washington, D.C. The governors will discuss the promise of new technologies to help America lessen its dependence on foreign energy supplies. They also will discuss building a historic multi-regional gubernatorial partnership on these issues.

Transmission is a critical issue for the West’s energy future – particularly renewable energy development. Many of the region’s current transmission lines are often at capacity. Without expanding this infrastructure, we will not be able to meet rising consumer demand for low-cost, clean energy resources. An expanded and upgraded electric transmission grid also will help to stabilize prices and provide for a more reliable and diverse energy supply. Presentations by:
